Falcons vs. Browns Free Pick

After cashing last week for bettors in their preseason opener, will the Falcons cover again tonight when they visit the Browns at 8:00PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Browns are 2-point home favorites versus the Falcons after Cleveland opened as a 2.5-point favorite. The total has also moved from the original number, climbing from 37 up to 37.5, which is where the over/under currently sits now.

The Falcons beat the Redskins 23-17 in their preseason opener thanks in large part to Aldrick Robinson’s big night. The former Washington wideout caught three passes for 118 yards, while backup quarterback Matt Schaub completed 10-of-15 passes for 179 yards. That’s the good news for Atlanta. The bad news is that starter Matt Ryan was 0-for-4 passing in his two series.

Bet tonight’s Falcons vs. Browns Game

In his preseason debut with the Browns, Robert Griffin III completed 4-of-8 passes for 67 yards and an interception. He started the game with a 49-yard pass to quarterback-turned-receiver Terrelle Pryor on the first offensive play, then converted a third down to Pryor later in the same drive. That said, RGIII made a questionable decision on an interception, which ended the scoring opportunity.

OUR PICK: With Ryan going 0-for-4 in the opener, look for the Falcons’ starters to come out sharper offensively. Offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan won’t want to struggle in back-to-back preseason games after his unit fell apart following a 5-0 start a year ago (not to mention he’s facing his former team tonight in the Browns). As he proved last week versus Washington, Schaub is also a backup capable of burning defenders on the roster bubble of opponents. The Falcons are certainly worth a flier as an underdog tonight.
