Broncos going with Peyton Manning, Denver +580 to win Super Bowl 50

Broncos going with Manning

The Denver Broncos have made their decision for their starting quarterback in the playoffs and it will be Peyton Manning.

The team made the decision official on Thursday, opting for the veteran Manning, over Brock Osweiler, who started most of the games in the second half of the season. Osweiler was performing somewhat well, but was just 14 of 22 passing for 232 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions against the Chargers last Sunday, which forced Denver to put Manning back in the mix and lead a comeback victory.

Manning has definitely not looked like himself this season, throwing for 2,249 yards with 9 touchdowns and 17 interceptions while completing just 59 percent of his passes. He has battled injuries and wasn’t active for a number of Osweiler’s starts. Manning has thrown more INTs this season than he has since 2001 despite appearing in just 10 games. He has a career low for TD passes and his worst completion percentage since his rookie season. His last start was Nov. 15 where he went 5 for 20 for 35 yards with four interceptions against the Chiefs. He was benched during the game and didn’t return to action until this last week.

According to oddsmakers at RealBets, Denver is currently listed with odds of +580 to win Super Bowl 50. They also are listed with odds of +225 to win the AFC Championship. Denver has the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs and they have a bye this week. Their opponent next week will be the worst-remaining seed following the two AFC games this weekend.
