Broncos vs. Chiefs Pick
AFC West rivals clash on Christmas night at 8:30PM ET when the Chiefs host the Broncos. Will the game be low-scoring?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Chiefs are 3.5-point home favorites over the Broncos while the over/under currently sits at 37 points. The point spread hasn’t moved off the original number, but the total hit the board at 38 before being bet down to 37.
The Broncos have lost two in a row and three of their last four to fall out of the playoff picture in the AFC. At 8-6, Denver is still in the mix for a wild card spot but the sixth and final spot is owned by Miami, which would have to open the door for the Broncos by losing over the final two weeks. In their latest loss, the Broncos fell 16-3 to the Patriots as a 3-point underdog. The offense continues to be the biggest issue for Denver.
The Chiefs fell out of the No. 2 seed in the AFC and all the way down to No. 5 when they were shocked 19-17 by the Titans on a last-second field goal. The Raiders, who were the fifth seed entering Week 15, are now in first place in the AFC West and would have a first-round bye if the playoffs started today. The loss to Tennessee was Kansas City’s first in three weeks. The Chiefs are now 10-4 on the year and 7-7 against the spread.

OUR PREDICTION: The game between these two teams in Denver a few weeks ago was high-scoring, but not until the fourth quarter and overtime. Before then, it appeared as though the under would be an easy cash for bettors. Those under bettors that were burned that Sunday night should get their redemption this Sunday night in Kansas City. The under is 7-3-2 in the last 12 meetings between these two teams, is 8-2 in the Chiefs’ last 10 games overall, and is 38-15 in their last 53 home games. With how ineffective Denver’s offense has become in December, this should be a low-scoring game throughout.
