Buccaneers vs. Dolphins Pick
Which struggling team will pick up a win when the Miami Dolphins host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday at 1PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, this game is considered even, as neither team is giving or getting any points. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 41.5 points. The home team has won five of the last six meetings between these two teams. The public betting for this game has Tampa Bay getting 53 percent of the wagers on the road. Sunday’s game takes place from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida and will air live on FOX.
Tampa Bay snapped a five-game losing streak last week with a 15-10 win over the Jets at home. Tampa is now 3-6 on the season and 2-6-1 against the spread. The win last week is somewhat surprising as Ryan Fitzpatrick got the start for the injured Jameis Winston. Fitzpatrick will start again on Sunday and leads an offense that is averaging 19.2 points and 356.7 yards per game. Fitzpatrick has thrown for 545 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions in his limited time on the field. Mike Evans is returning from a 1-game suspension. The receiver has 40 catches for 532 yards and four touchdowns. Doug Martin is their leading rusher with 305 yards and two scores. Defensively, Tampa Bay is allowing 23.1 points and 386.7 yards per contest. Their pass defense is giving up 276.8 yards per game.
Miami is coming off a 45-21 loss at Carolina on Monday night for its third straight loss. The Dolphins are now 4-5 on the season and 3-4-2 against the spread. They are 0-2-2 ATS in their last four. Miami has been a mess on offense all season, averaging just 15.2 points and 289.3 yards per game. Jay Cutler hasn’t had a season to remember, as he has 1,519 passing yards with 12 touchdowns and six interceptions. The team traded away leading rusher Jay Ajayi a few weeks back. Kenyan Drake is the leading active rusher with 176 yards and a touchdown. Jarvis Landry is the leading receiver with 61 catches for 472 yards and five scores. Defensively, Miami is giving up 24.9 points and 351.9 yards per game.
Bet on Buccaneers vs. Dolphins
This game is such a tough call even the oddsmakers don’t know where to go. Tampa surprisingly won last week without Winston or Evans, so perhaps the defense is set to step up. They could be able to contain a poor Miami offense. The Dolphins are 0-3-1 against the spread in their last four against losing teams while Tampa is strangely 18-3-1 ATS in their last 22 Week-11 games. In a coin toss, I’ll take any obscure reason to jump on a team. Tampa may rally behind the loss of their leader once again and beat this lackluster Miami team.
