Bucs vs. Panthers: Monday Night Football Point Spread Dropping 10/10/16

MNF point spread drops ahead of kickoff

After rising throughout the week, the point spread in tonight’s NFC South matchup between the Bucs and Panthers has dropped ahead of the 8:30PM ET kickoff.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Panthers are 5.5-point home favorites versus the Bucs while the over/under currently sits at 46 points.

Bet Tonight’s Bucs vs. Panthers Game

Both the side and the total have moved off the original numbers posted by oddsmakers. After the total opened at 45.5, the number was bet up to 46 within the last 10 hours, while the side opened at Carolina -4.5, moved to -6, then came back down slightly to -5.5. In look at the line movement at various Vegas sports books, it would appear that the point spread could move back to Panthers -6 before kickoff.

The reason for the line movement is unclear, but perhaps oddsmakers are trying to entice bettors to take the Panthers at a slightly discounted price before moving it back up to 6. Either way, with neither 5.5 or 6 being a key number, one would think that bettors won’t push the spread too much from here on out.
