Peterson set for big game?
Adrian Peterson is coming off his worst performance of the season last week. Will he rebound today when the Minnesota Vikings take on the Arizona Cardinals?
According to oddsmakers at MyBookie.ag, the Cardinals are favored at home in this game, as they are getting odds of -9.5 points against the Vikings tonight. The over/under total for the game has been set at 46 points. These two meet tonight at 8:25PM ET on the NFL Network.
Peterson is among the leaders in rushing in the NFL this season, as he has 1,182 yards and eight scores this year, but he is coming off an 18-yard performance on 8 carries against the Seattle Seahawks last week. Today, Peterson and the Vikings (8-4, 9-3 ATS) face a Cardinals’ (10-2, 7-5 ATS) defense that ranks fourth in the NFL, allowing just 89 yards per game on the ground. They have also allowed just five rushing touchdowns in 2015.
Oddsmakers have listed Peterson’s over/under for rushing yards tonight at 85.5 yards and his total for rushing attempts at 20.5. Peterson expressed some displeasure in having just 8 carries last week, so you can expect that to certainly increase today. Peterson has usually responded well to bad outings. He had just 31 yards on 10 carries to start the season but then bounced back with 134 yards on 29 carries the following week. He was held to 45 yards on 13 carries in a loss at home to the Packers on Nov. 22, but came back with 158 yards on 29 carries and two scores against the Falcons the following week.
