Fitzpatrick primed for big game
Is Ryan Fitzpatrick due to have a big game for the New York Jets against a struggling New York Giants pass defense today?
According to oddsmakers at RealBets, the Jets are favored on the road in this game, as they are getting odds of -2 points against the Giants. The over/under total for the game has been set at 46.5 points. These two meet today at 1PM ET on CBS.
For Fitzpatrick, his over/under for passing yards in today’s game has been set at 255.5 yards, while his total completions is set at 21.5.
Fitzpatrick is having a pretty nice season for the Jets (6-5, 5-5-1 ATS). The veteran QB has 2,476 yards and 20 touchdowns while completing 58.5 percent of his passes. While he’s probably not the first QB you’d be looking at to shine in a given week, today’s matchup with the Giants (5-6, 6-4-1 ATS) is very favorable on paper.
No team in the league has allowed more passing yards this season than the Giants, as they have given up 3,466 yards and 20 touchdowns through the pass game this season. They have managed 14 interceptions, which ranks in the top 5, but that doesn’t qualify them as a good secondary. Fitzpatrick is also coming in hot, as he had 277 yards and four touchdowns last week against the Dolphins. He has thrown for over 250 yards five times this season and has two steady targets in Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker.
