Will Kelce step up for KC?
With the Kansas City Chiefs without their leading receiver, will it be up to tight end Travis Kelce to step up against the New England Patriots today?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Patriots are favored at home over the Chiefs tonight, as they are getting odds of -5 points. The over/under total for the game has been set at 43 points. These two meet today at 4:35PM ET on CBS.
The Chiefs (12-5, 9-8 ATS) are on an 11-game win streak, but they come into this contest with some injury concerns as receivers Albert Wilson and Jeremy Maclin are both questionable to play. That puts more pressure on Kelce to step up for the KC offense. The third-year receiver had 72 receptions for 875 yards with five touchdowns this season for the Chiefs. In last week’s playoff win over the Texans, Kelce caught eight passes for 128 yards.
For today’s divisional playoff game against the Patriots (12-4, 7-7-2 ATS) Kelce has been given an over/under of 5 receptions and 61.5 receiving yards. The Patriots were pretty strong against tight ends this season, allowing the sixth-fewest fantasy points to opposing TEs. They have held opposing TEs to under 61 yards in 13 of their last 15 games. When these two met last season, Kelce had eight receptions for 93 yards and a TD. This season, Kelce has had 5 receptions or more in 10 games while getting at least 62 yards in six of 17 contests.
