In checking the public betting charts for tonight’s game, the Eagles are only receiving 55% backing from public bettors ahead of tonight’s game. So for the point spread to move a full point at some sports books, that’s an indication that some sharp players are backing Philadelphia as well. It wouldn’t make sense for sports books to adjust their line that much, including moving off a key number, unless wiseguys were in on the action. The Packers are dealing with a slew of injuries, but oddsmakers knew that before they posted the spread for this game.
Green Bay enters play tonight on a four-game slide, losing at Atlanta by one point, at home versus Indianapolis as a 7.5-point favorite, at Tennessee as a 3-point road fave, and at Washington as a 3-point underdog. That loss to the Redskins dropped the Packers’ record to 4-6 on the year and after Mike McCarthy’s team failed to cover, they’re now 4-5-1 at the betting window in 2016. Due to their banged-up secondary getting torched on a weekly basis, the over is also 4-0 in the Packers’ last four games.

Philadelphia isn’t on a slide like Green Bay is but the Eagles are in a bit of a funk. They beat the Falcons 24-15 three weeks ago, holding the explosive Atlanta offense to just one touchdown and three field goals. But that was the only win Philadelphia has been able to muster over its last four games. Granted, that was also the only time the Eagles played at home over the last four weeks, and they are a perfect 4-0 at Lincoln Financial Field this season.
