NFL Playoff Betting: Point Spreads Climbing for Wild Card Weekend 1/3/18

Wild Card Weekend Line Movement

The point spreads for all four of the NFL Wild Card games have moved significantly off the original lines. Here is the latest line movement.

Titans at Chiefs, 4:35 p.m. ET, Saturday

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Chiefs are 9-point home favorites to beat the Titans for the first game of Wild Card Weekend. Kansas City opened as a touchdown favorite before the line jumped two full points. The total, however, hasn’t moved off the original number of 44.5. As of Wednesday morning, 54% of betting tickets are on the Titans.

Bet NFL Wild Card Weekend Games

Falcons at Rams, 8:15 p.m. ET, Saturday

When the Wild Card Weekend odds were released, the Rams opened as a 4.5-point favorite but that number has since climbed to 6.5 at most sports books. As of this writing, 54% of the betting tickets are on the Rams so it’s not surprising that the line has moved, although there must be wiseguy action also on L.A. for the spread to climb a full two points. As for the total, the number hit the board at 49.5 but has dropped to 48.5.

Bills at Jaguars, 1:05 p.m. ET, Sunday

The Bills could be without their biggest offensive weapon, which has impacted the line in this game. LeSean McCoy is questionable to play Sunday after suffering an ankle injury in Buffalo’s Week 17 victory over Miami. If he can’t play, the Bills will have a difficult time taking advantage of a Jacksonville run defense that is the team’s only defensive weakness. The Jaguars opened as a 7.5-point home favorite for Sunday’s game but the line has climbed to 9 despite 54% of the betting tickets currently on the Bills.

Panthers at Saints, 4:40 p.m. ET, Sunday

The Saints opened as a 5.5-point favorite for their third meeting with the Panthers but the line has jumped a full point to 6.5. The total, meanwhile, sits at 48.5 points. New Orleans has dominated this matchup at the betting window. The Panthers are 0-6 against the spread in their last six games versus the Saints and are 1-4 against the number in their last five games in New Orleans. The Saints are currently the biggest public favorite for Wild Card Weekend, garnering 57% of the betting tickets.
