The Bengals have looked rough in the first two weeks of the season, losing to the Ravens and Texans at home by a combined score of 33-9. They have failed to cover in both games, as they were favored in both. The Cincinnati defense has been respectable, allowing just 285.5 yards per game, but the offense has been a mess. The Bengals are putting up just 276.5 yards per game, including only 79.5 yards per game on the ground. Joe Mixon has just 45 yards through two games while Andy Dalton has thrown for 394 yards and four interceptions without a touchdown.
The Packers fell to 1-1 last week following a 34-23 loss to the Falcons in Atlanta. They are also 1-1 against the spread. Green Bay is averaging just 20 points per game despite averaging 398.5 yards per contest. Aaron Rodgers has thrown for 654 yards and three touchdowns and two interceptions. The Packers are still lacking in a run game, as Ty Montgomery has just 89 yards on 29 carries. Defensively, Green Bay is allowing 21.5 points and 320.5 yards per game. However, the unit will be without leader Nick Perry, who has a finger injury.
The Bengals have looked like a complete mess through two games. The offense just can’t put anything together. The Packers will be challenged to put up a lot of points against the Bengals, but they won’t need many points to cover the spread. Cincinnati hasn’t scored a touchdown at home over two games, so it’s hard to see them doing anything on the road. Rodgers is too good for the Bengals to completely shut him down, so look for Green Bay to cover at home.
