Bills look to win in Washington

After opening with a 19-18 loss to the Colts in the preseason opener, the Bills hammered the Giants last week at home, 21-0. Despite the win, there were still concerns about Buffalo’s run game. The Bills produced just 70 yards on 37 carries. This is also coming off the team releasing second-year back Karlos Williams. Despite that, Tyrod Taylor looked good, throwing for 132 yards on 7 of 10 passing. He should see more time this week. Defensively, moving the ball on Buffalo has been very tough. They held the Giants to just 64 yards on 8 of 25 passing last week. They also had three sacks and forced four turnovers.
The Redskins are coming off a 22-18 win over the Jets at home last week. The Redskins did a great job against the run, allowing just 35 yards. However, New York only ran the ball nine times. The Jets had 314 passing yards on Washington’s secondary, which was an issue last season. Kirk Cousins didn’t play last week for Washington, but should see time tonight. Still, Colt McCoy went 13 of 16 passing for 159 yards. The team saw running back Matt Jones get injured with an AC sprain and he isn’t going to be in action tonight.

Given the injuries to Washington, I like Buffalo to come away with this game. The Bills’ defense is tough enough to move the ball on, doing so without their top back will be even tougher for Washington. The Bills have had some nice quarterback play in each of their first two games and they should get some mild improvement in the run game this week.
