NFL Total Predictions: Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Tennessee Titans 12/29/17

Jaguars vs. Titans Total Pick

Will the Tennessee Titans manage to move the ball on the Jacksonville Jaguars when the two meet up Sunday at 4:25PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Tennessee is favored at home on Sunday, as the Titans are getting odds of -3 points against the Jags. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 42 points. The home team has won six of the last seven meetings in this series and the two have hit the over in four straight games. The public betting in this game has 66 percent of the wagers going on the Titans at home. Sunday’s game takes place from Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee and will air live on CBS.

Despite riding a three-game losing streak, the Titans still control their playoff fates on Sunday. If they win, they are in due to a tiebreaker over other Wild Card contenders. Tennessee is 8-7 on the season and 9-6 with the over. Tennessee is averaging just 21.3 points and 331.8 yards per game on offense this year. Marcus Mariota has thrown for 3,098 yards and 12 touchdowns, but also has 15 interceptions. DeMarco Murray is dealing with a knee injury but plans on toughing it out. He and Derrick Henry have rushed for over 1,300 yards this year and have a combined 11 touchdowns. Defensively, the Titans are holding opponents to 23.1 points and 351.9 yards per game. Their run defense is allowing just 89.1 yards per game.

The Jaguars are locked into the third seed in the AFC playoffs, but they say they will not rest the starters for this game. Jacksonville is 10-5 on the season and 8-7 with the over. They have hit the over in three straight. Jacksonville is allowing just 16.9 points and 312.3 yards per game on defense this season. That includes only 196 passing yards per game. Calais Campbell is leading the defense with 14.5 sacks and 60 tackles. Offensively, the Jags average 27.1 points and 382.5 yards per game. Blake Bortles has thrown for 3,529 yards and 21 touchdowns while Leonard Fournette has 971 rushing yards and nine touchdowns.

Bet on Jaguars vs. Titans

Jacksonville doesn’t need this game, but seems set on trying to go for it. Look for the Jags’ defense to seek revenge against a Tennessee team that put up 37 on it in Week 2. Jacksonville’s offense is likely to run into a road bump in this game as well. The Titans defense knows it will need to step up if they are going to win. Their run defense should pose problems for Fournette.
