The Bills will return largely the same core that was competitive a season ago under head coach Rex Ryan. Quarterback Tyrod Taylor received a new deal in the offseason and he will once again be joined by LeSean McCoy, Sammy Watkins and Charles Clay on offense. If the Bills are going to be a playoff team, however, the defense has to show marked improvement. Buffalo does have some good talent on that side of the ball, with Kyle Williams, Jerry Hughes and Stephon Gilmore being some of the key pieces.
The Ravens are getting several key pieces back from a team that was decimated by injuries a year ago. Quarterback Joe Flacco, running back Justin Foresett and receiver Steve Smith are all back, plus 2015 first-round pick Breshad Perriman is finally ready to contribute after he didn’t play last season. Terrell Suggs will also return from an injury-riddled 2015 and he’ll be joined by newcomer Eric Weddle.

OUR PICK: The Ravens have become a poor home bet, going 1-9-1 against the spread in their last 11 games in Baltimore. They’re also just 1-3-1 against the number in their last five games in September and guys like Flacco could need a few weeks to shake off the rust. The Bills, meanwhile, are 9-2 against the number in their last 11 season openers and are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games versus AFC opponents. Buffalo has a habit of starting seasons fast, so take the points.
