NFL Week 12 Odds: Romo’s Cowboys favored vs. Newton’s unbeaten Panthers

Romo favored vs. Cam

Despite being unbeaten, Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers aren’t getting much respect in Thursday’s 4:30PM ET game with the Dallas Cowboys.

View NFL Odds

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Cowboys are actually favored at home against the undefeated Panthers, as Dallas is getting odds of -2 points against Carolina. The over/under total has been set at 45.5 points. These two meet today at 4:30PM ET on CBS.

The Cowboys are technically unbeaten in a way despite a 3-7 record. The Cowboys have yet to lose when Tony Romo has played. He returned from injury last week to grind out a win over the Dolphins, but now he faces the toughest defense he has faced all season in Carolina. The Panthers are fourth in the NFL in total defense (322.8 ypg) and seventh in passing defense (228.3). They have 15 interceptions as a unit, led by Josh Norman and Kurt Coleman, who each have four this year. Romo has been given an over/under of 260.5 passing yards for today’s game. He has only done that in one of the three games he has appeared in.

On the flip side, Newton and the 10-0 Panthers face a tough defense as well. Dallas ranks 10th in the league in pass defense and some of the Cowboys’ numbers have been impacted negatively by the loss of Romo and the offense unable to stay on the field in his absence. Newton has thrown for 2,283 yards with 20 TDs and 9 INTs. Newton has been given an over/under of 231.5 passing yards for today’s game. He has went over that number five times this year.
