NFL Week 13 Opening Point Spread Odds & Over/Under Totals 11/28/16

NFL Week 13 Opening Lines

The opening spreads and totals are starting to hit the board for Week 13 in the NFL. Here’s a look at some of the key matchups.

Cowboys @ Vikings, Thursday Night Football

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the 10-1 Cowboys opened as a 2.5-point favorite over the 6-5 Vikings but the line was immediately bet up to Dallas -3. It wouldn’t be surprising to see that line move off the key number and go higher with how well the Cowboys have fared at the betting window this season. They failed to cover against the Redskins on Thanksgiving Day, but the ‘Boys are still 9-2 against the spread this season, far and away the best ATS team in the league.

Chiefs @ Falcons, Sunday, 1:00PM ET

Kansas City won a huge game on Sunday night, upsetting Denver 30-27 in overtime after the Broncos thought they had sealed the game with a late touchdown with three minutes to play. Alex Smith rallied the Chiefs at the end of regulation, throwing a touchdown pass with only seconds on the clock, then converting a 2-point play before leading KC to two field goals in overtime. The Chiefs now head to Atlanta, where the explosive Falcons await. Matt Ryan and Co. opened as 4-point favorites and that’s where the line currently sits at most sports books.

Lions @ Saints, Sunday, 1:00PM ET

Detroit now owns sole possession of first place in the NFC North after beating Minnesota on Thanksgiving Day. Now the Lions will travel to New Orleans, where the 5-6 Saints still have playoff aspirations despite being two wins back of the Falcons in the NFC South. After opening as a 5.5-point home favorite, the Saints are now either a 4 or 4.5-point favorite depending on which sports book you view.

Dolphins @ Ravens, Sunday, 1:00PM ET

With all due respect to the Oakland Raiders and New England Patriots, the hottest team in the AFC right now is the Miami Dolphins, who have won six straight games to improve to 7-4. They’re in position to earn one of the two wild cards in the AFC but they’ll need to get past the first-place Ravens on Sunday in order to keep their momentum. The Ravens opened as a 3.5-point favorite against the Dolphins for Sunday’s matchup but if you like Miami, now might be the time to jump on Adam Gase’s team. There’s no telling how long you’ll be able to nab the underdog with the hook.

Giants @ Steelers, 4:25PM ET, Sunday

Pittsburgh is tied with Baltimore at 6-5 in the AFC North, but the Steelers are in second place by virture of their loss to the Ravens a few weeks ago. The Giants, meanwhile, are keeping pace with the Cowboys in the NFC East and currently hold a wild card spot in the NFC. The Steelers opened as 6-point home favorites versus the Giants but that number has been bet down to 5.5.

Panthers @ Seahawks, 8:30PM ET, Sunday

The Sunday Night Football matchup lost some of its luster in Week 12 when the Panthers couldn’t hold onto a lead in Oakland. Had Carolina won, the Panthers would have kept their faint playoff hopes alive. As they sit now, it’s fair to wonder whether or not Ron Rivera’s team will check out. The Seahawks, coming off an embarrassing loss to the Buccaneers in which their offense was completely shut down, opened as a 6.5-point favorite but the line could move up to a touchdown at some point this week. One would think public bettors will jump on Seattle coming off a loss, while also fading the struggling Panthers.
