Bengals vs. Vikings Total Pick
Will the Cincinnati Bengals and Minnesota Vikings combine to score enough points to push the number over the total at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday?
Game Info
Matchup: Bengals (5-8) at Vikings (10-3)
TV: CBS, 1:00 p.m. ET
Line: Vikings-10.5
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the over/under currently sits at 42 points after hitting the board at 41. The Vikings, meanwhile, are 10.5-point home favorites to beat the Bengals. The number also opened at 10.5.
PUBLIC BETTING: As of this writing, 64% of the betting tickets are on the Vikings to cover the point spread but 60% of the money is on the Bengals.
INJURY REPORT: Vontaze Burfict (concussion), Joe Mixon (consussion), Dre Kirkpatrick (concussion), Shawn Williams (hamstring) and Carlos Dunlap (chest) are all questionable. Adam Jones (Groin), John Ross (shoulder) and Jeremy Hill (ankle), meanwhile, are all out.
As for the Vikings, tight end Kyle Rudolph (Foot) is questionable, as are Everson Griffen (undisclosed) and Mike Remmers (back).
OUR PREDICTION: The under is 12-5 in the Bengals’ last 17 road games, is 7-3 in their last 10 games coming off a straight up loss, and is 18-7-1 in their last 26 games after allowing more than 30 points in their previous game. The under is also 11-4 in the Bengals’ last 15 road games versus a team with a winning home record and has cashed in 12 of their last 16 games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game.
The Vikings had a setback last week in Charlotte but still rank third in points allowed (18.1), second in rushing yards allowed (88.3), fifth in passing yards allowed (205.1) and third in total yards allowed (293.4). I expect this Minnesota defense to rebound and for this game to be low-scoring throughout.
