NFL Week 17 Picks: Will the Jaguars and Colts hit another over on Sunday?

Jaguars vs. Colts Pick

With nothing at stake, will we see an offensive display for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts when they meet on Sunday at 1PM ET?

According to the oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Colts are favored at home in this game, as they are getting odds of -4.5 points against the Jaguars. The over/under total for the game is listed at 47 points. The Jaguars won the first meeting of the season, 30-27, at home back on Oct. 2. These two have hit the over in their last two meetings.

Bet on Jaguars vs. Colts

The Jaguars put a surprising end to their 9-game losing streak last week with a 38-17 win over the Tennessee Titans to move to 3-12 on the year. The Jags hit the over for the third straight game to move to 10-5 with the over this season. Jacksonville pulled out all the stops in their home finale last week which helped them improve on their 19.9 points per game average on offense. Blake Bortles comes into this game putting up 3,604 yards passing with 22 touchdowns and 16 interceptions, but he will come into this game without a great run game as TJ Yeldon, Chris Ivory and Denard Robinson are all battling injuries. Yeldon is definitely out while Ivory and Robinson are both questionable to play. Defensively, Jacksonville is giving up 25.1 points and 327.7 yards per game. They have had a pretty good pass defense this year, allowing just 220.4 yards per contest.

The Colts saw their playoff hopes officially end last week in a 33-25 loss to the Raiders in Oakland. Indy is now 7-8 on the season and 9-6 with the over. Indy has had a great offense, as the Colts average 25.8 points and 380.3 yards per game. The Colts have one of the top pass attacks in the league, averaging 278 yards per game. Andrew Luck has thrown for 3,919 yards and 29 touchdowns with 12 interceptions. TY Hilton has been his leading receiver with 85 catches for 1,353 yards and six scores. Defensively, Indy is giving up 24.8 points and 390 yards per game. The Colts struggle against the pass, allowing 273.7 yards per game through the air.

With nothing at stake, I can see both offenses going out and trying to let it fly. The Colts have already shown they can move the ball while the Jaguars showed a surprising scoring surge against the Titans. Indy’s defense should continue to struggle, which will allow Bortles to try and match Luck score-for-score.
