Steelers vs. Eagles Pick
Which 2-0 team will get the best of the other when the Philadelphia Eagles host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday at 4:25PM ET?
According to the oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Steelers are favored on the road Sunday, as they are getting odds of -3.5 points against the Eagles. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 46 points. The home team has won six of the last seven in this series and the Eagles are 4-1 against the spread in their last five against the Steelers. These two have hit the under in three straight meetings.
The Eagles are optimistic about things as they are off to a 2-0 start under rookie QB Carson Wentz. Wentz has thrown for 468 yards with three touchdowns in two games, but those two games were against the Browns and Bears. Now he faces a big test in a perennial playoff contender and one of the most storied franchises in the NFL. Though Wentz has been solid, it is Philly’s defense that may be the biggest reason for 2-0. The Eagles are allowing just 12 points and 304.5 yards per game right now while picking up four turnovers and six sacks.
Pittsburgh is 2-0 on the season and 2-0 against the spread thanks to a win at Washington and a tough win at home over the Bengals. Pittsburgh is averaging 31 points and 415 yards per game on offense right now. DeAngelo Williams has rushed for 237 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead the offense while Ben Roethlisberger has thrown for 559 yards and six scores in the two games. The Pitt defense is giving up just 16 points per game, but allowing 398 yards per contest.

Wentz has been all Philly could ask for through two starts. He has been a good game manager and gotten the ball out quickly. However, this is different territory. He is facing a savvy Pittsburgh team that will have a good game plan to try and expose him. The Eagles also have been leading most of their games, so will Wentz start to press if they fall behind? Expect Pittsburgh to find ways past this Eagles’ defense and then the Steel Curtain to shake up Wentz and bring him back down to reality a little bit.
