NFL Week 3 Player Prop Odds and Wagers 9/25/16

NFL Week 3 Player Props

What Prop Bets should you consider for Week 3 of the NFL Season? Here’s a few we think will hit today.

One prop odd that sticks out comes in the L.A. Rams at Tampa Bay Buccaneers game at 4:05PM ET today. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, L.A. running back Todd Gurley is listed with an over/under of 70.5 rushing yards in the contest. Through two games this season, Gurley has just 98 yards rushing on 36 carries. He had 51 yards on 19 carries against the Seahawks and 47 yards on 17 carries against the 49ers. Tampa Bay comes into today ranking eighth in rushing defense, allowing just 157 yards in two games, against the Falcons and Cardinals. We know the Rams are going to give Gurley opportunities, so he just needs to break a run or two to get to 71 yards. Tampa Bay may have good numbers now, but they allowed over 100 yards per game last season. It’s worth taking a chance on Gurley to hit the over today.

When the Oakland Raiders hit the road to take on the Tennessee Titans, Oakland receiver Amari Cooper is listed with an over/under total of 74.5 receiving yards. Cooper is off to a great start this season, catching 11 passes for 208 yards. He had five catches for 71 yards against the Falcons and six grabs for 137 yards against the Saints. The Titans ranked seventh in the NFL in passing defense last season, but are giving up 237 yards through the air per game through two games in 2016. Cooper has been targeted 20 times in two games. I wouldn’t look for that to change. He should still get at least 10 looks and he is a player that can do big things with his opportunities. Tennessee isn’t the same defense as a year ago, so I think Cooper goes over 74.5 yards today.

In the physical battle where the Cincinnati Bengals host the Denver Broncos at 1PM ET, Andy Dalton has been given an over/under of 232.5 passing yards for the contest. Dalton has had a great start to his 2016 season, throwing for 732 yards and two touchdowns. The sixth-year QB has thrown for 366 yards in both games this season, completing 23 of 30 passes against the Jets and 31 of 54 passes against Pittsburgh. He faces the second-ranked passing defense in the NFL in Denver today. The Broncos have allowed only 346 passing yards in two games and they were the top-ranked passed defense for all of 2015. The Broncos have already dealt with Cam Newton and Andrew Luck, so I don’t see Dalton being able to have much better success. This is a prop where I like the under.
