NFL Week 4 Predictions: Cleveland Browns vs. Washington Redskins 10/2/16

Browns vs. Redskins Prediction

Will the Washington Redskins and Cleveland Browns be able to display much, if any, defense when they meet up today at 1PM ET?

According to the oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Redskins are favored at home, as they are getting odds of -7.5 points against the Browns. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 47 points. Washington has won three of the last four against Cleveland and the two have hit the under in four of their last six meetings.

Bet on Browns vs. Redskins

The Browns are off to an 0-3 start following a 30-24 OT loss at Miami last week. Including preseason, Cleveland has now lost 10 straight games and 17 of their last 18. They have hit the over, though, in their last two games. That can probably be credited more to their defense, which is giving up 28 points and 409 yards per game. They are allowing nearly 300 yards per game through the air. On offense, Cleveland hasn’t been too bad, averaging 387.7 yards per game despite scoring just 18 points per contest. Injuries have forced Cody Kessler to be the starting QB, but the team has found a spark in Terrelle Pryor, using him to run, catch and pass in last week’s game against Miami.

The Redskins are coming off a 29-27 win over the Giants in New York to finally grab a win. Washington has hit the over in all three games this season, as they are struggling on defense as well. Washington is giving up 30.7 points and 437 yards per game on defense, including 314 passing yards per game. On offense, Washington is putting up 22.7 points and 415.7 yards per contest. Kirk Cousins has thrown for 989 yards and three touchdowns, but also has three interceptions. Washington could use more from the run game, as they have just 227 yards through three.

This game should feature plenty of big plays, as both defensive units are a mess. Washington should get big plays in the air, while Cleveland may get more from the ground with Isaiah Crowell and Pryor. This is a game that could feature both teams in the high 20s, so I like the over to hit. Neither team has shown an ability to get consistent stops.
