When it comes to Week 5 of the NFL schedule, the Patriots clearly own the hearts and minds of the public. But what other squads are commanding respect from the general population?

After running roughshod over Kansas City last Sunday night, Pittsburgh’s assuredly back in the good graces of bettors. Seventy percent of wagers go the way of Mike Tomlin’s troops as they prepare to contest the Jets. Expect Le’Veon Bell to build on his 178-yard output vs. the Chiefs, while Ben Roethlisberger’s a virtual lock to throw multiple touchdowns. Imagine the Steelers’ deadliness if Sammie Coates or Markus Wheaton were to truly step up on the opposite side of Antonio Brown.
Another popular pick hails from the Twin Cities. The surging Vikings host Houston at 1 p.m. ET, with 68 percent of patrons fancying Mike Zimmer’s crew to improve to 5-0. Sam Bradford has filled in admirably for injured quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. In addition, offensive coordinator Norv Turner hopes that tailback Jerick McKinnon, who’s attempting to fill the lofty shoes of Adrian Peterson, keeps making strides. Zimmer’s defense, however, still appears to represent Minnesota’s ultimate trump card.
In the Motor City, fans aren’t necessarily dashing to the aid of the 1-3 Lions. Sixty-eight percent of precincts give the nod to Carson Wentz and Philadelphia this afternoon. The Eagles’ rookie signal-caller continues to take the league by storm, having amassed 769 passing yards and five scores in his first three starts. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Detroit cannot identify a primary ball carrier and must figure out what’s ailing No. 1 receiver Golden Tate.

Then there’s New England. Remember Week 4’s 16-0 blanking at the hands of Buffalo? Evidently not, because 84 percent of the crowd leans toward Bill Belichick’s disciples heading into Cleveland. Tom Brady’s finally ready to be unleashed, which also guarantees a huge boost for tight end Rob Gronkowski. Let the good times roll for the visiting crew.
