NFL Week 6 Predictions: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Miami Dolphins 10/16/16

Steelers vs. Dolphins Prediction

Can the Pittsburgh Steelers continue their recent dominant string when they go on the road to face the Miami Dolphins today at 1PM ET?

According to the oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Steelers are favored on the road, as they are getting odds of -7.5 points against the Dolphins. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 48 points. Pittsburgh has won five of the last six meetings with Miami, but the Dolphins are 3-1 against the spread in the last four of this series.

Bet on Steelers vs. Dolphins

Pittsburgh got a wake-up call weeks ago in a 34-3 loss at Philadelphia. Since then, Pittsburgh has beaten the Chiefs 43-14 and the Jets 31-13. They are now 4-1 on the season and 4-1 against the spread. Pittsburgh averaging 27.8 points and 401.2 yards per game, as they feature one of the most dangerous offenses in the NFL. Ben Roethlisberger continues to throw the ball around at will, racking up 1,496 yards and 15 touchdowns while Le’Veon Bell has run for 210 yards in his two games since returning to action. Antonio Brown has added 37 receptions for 447 yards and five scores. Defensively, Pittsburgh has been strong against the run this year, holding opponents to just 77 yards per game on the ground. However, they are giving up 307.6 passing yards per contest.

Miami is coming off a 30-17 loss to the Titans last week to fall to 1-4 on the season. The Dolphins are also just 1-4 against the spread. Despite big names on the defensive side of the ball, Miami is giving up 414.8 yards per game, which has led to an average of 23.8 points allowed per game. The Dolphins have really struggled against the run, giving up 150.8 yards per contest. On offense, Miami is only putting up 17.6 points and 326.8 yards per contest. Ryan Tannehill has thrown for 1,272 yards and six touchdowns, but also has seven interceptions. The Miami run game has been a mess, putting up only 362 yards this season. The Dolphins hope this changes this week with Arian Foster hoping to return from a groin injury. He appeared in the season opener and had 38 rushing yards and 62 receiving yards, but then was injured quickly into the second game of the season.

Pittsburgh seems to have found a new gear with Bell in the backfield. Nobody can stop them right now. While the Jets and Chiefs haven’t been the greatest defensive units this season, you certainly can’t say that about Miami either. I would expect the Steelers to score at will on them. I also think Miami will continue to struggle on offense as they just don’t have enough playmakers, including Tannehill.
