NFL Week 7 Monday Night Football Redskins vs. Eagles Predictions 10/23/17

Redskins vs. Eagles MNF Prediction

Will the Redskins slow down the red-hot Eagles and at least cover the point spread tonight when the NFC East rivals meet on Monday Night Football?

Who Oddsmakers Like: Philadelphia. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Eagles opened as 4-point home favorites but the line has been bet up to 4.5 at the majority of sports books. As for the total, the number hit the board at 48.5 but has been bet up slightly to 49.

Who Public Bettors Like: Philadelphia, by a slim margin. As of this writing, 53% of public bettors are backing Philadelphia and are laying the points. It’s not surprising that public bettors are backing a 5-1 Eagles team that has been good to bettors this season, covering in four of their six games overall.

Bet Tonight’s Redskins vs. Eagles Game

Who the Trends Like: Washington. The Redskins have covered the spread in six of the last seven meetings between these two teams and in eight of their last 10 games in Philadelphia. The underdog is also 5-2 against the spread in the last seven meetings. The Redskins are also 7-2 against the spread in their last nine games when facing a team with a winning record, are 10-3 in their last 13 road games, and have covered in five of their last six games coming off an ATS loss.

Who We Like: Washington. Carson Wentz is having an outstanding season and is even being mentioned in MVP conversations. With the year that Wentz is having, he’s overshadowing the season that Kirk Cousins is putting together. He lost his top two receivers in Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson in the offseason and tight end Jordan Reed has a total of 140 yards on the season. Still, Cousins has found a way to be in the top 10 in both QB Rating and yards per attempt. He’s disproving the narrative that he’s an Andy Dalton-type game manager.

Unfortunately, the Redskins are banged-up ahead of tonight’s game. Jonathan Allen is out with a foot injury while Josh Norman will miss tonight due to a ribs injury. Still, this is a division matchup and a revenge spot for the underdog Redskins. I’ll take the points.
