Raiders vs. Jaguars Prediction
Are the Jaguars a safe bet to cover the spread today when they host the Raiders at 1:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Jaguars are now 2.5-point home favorites versus the Raiders after opening as a 1.5-point favorite earlier in the week. As for the total, the number hit the board at 48.5 but has been bet down a full point-and-a-half to 47.
The Raiders enter play today having covered six straight road games and are 4-1 against the number in their last five games following a loss. They’re also 6-2 at the betting window in their last eight games coming off a double-digit home loss and are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games following a failed cover in their previous game.
The Jaguars are 12-5-1 against the spread in their last 18 games versus AFC opponents and have covered in five of their last seven games when facing a team that owns a winning record. That said, they’re 7-15-1 against the number in their last 23 games coming off a win and are 17-37-2 ATS in their last 56 games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game.

OUR PREDICTION: The Raiders are allowing a league-worst 444.8 yards per game this season and need to allow only 61 yards against the Jags today to set a new franchise-worst through seven games. While the Jags have won two straight games, the Raiders are coming off a loss where the Chiefs successfully played keep-away from Oakland’s explosive offense in the second half. I expect Jacksonville to attempt to do the same today. The Raiders are just 1-5 against the spread in their last six games versus the Jaguars.
