Jaguars vs. Colts Prediction
Should bettors buy low on the Colts this afternoon when they host the Jaguars as a home underdog at 1:00PM ET?
Who Oddsmakers Like: Jacksonville. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Jaguars are 3-point road favorites to beat the Colts, who opened as 3-point home underdogs. As for the total, the number hit the board at 44.5 but has been bet down to 43 at the majority of online sports books.
Who the Public Likes: Jacksonville. As of this writing, 65% of public bettors are backing the Jaguars and laying the three points. Apparently public bettors aren’t scared off by the fact that Jacksonville has been highly inconsistent this season and is coming off a loss.
Who the Trends Like: Jacksonville. The Jaguars have covered the spread four straight times against the Colts and are 7-3 against the number in their last 10 trips to Indianapolis. The favorite is also 9-4 at the betting window in the last 13 meetings between these two teams while the under is a perfect 6-0 the last six meetings in Indianapolis.
Who We Like: Indianapolis. The Jaguars only have one way to beat you, which is to run the ball with Leonard Fournette and play good defense. But what happened last week? They fell behind 24-14 before halftime and weren’t able to employ that strategy in their 27-17 loss to the Rams. And now Fournette is banged-up. If Blake Bortles is asked to win games for the Jags the results are predictable. The Colts are just 2-4 but they’ve been competitive with Jacoby Brisset under center. If Fournette doesn’t play or is ineffective, I love the value of the home underdog here.
