Cardinals vs. Rams Prediction
Will the Cardinals upset the Rams in London when the NFC West rivals meet overseas at 1:00PM ET?
Who Oddsmakers Like: Los Angeles. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Rams are 3-point favorites versus the Cardinals, who opened as 2.5-point underdogs for this matchup. As for the total, the number hit the board at 47.5 but has been bet down to 45.5 at the majority of sports books.
Who the Public Likes: Arizona, but not by a wide margin. As of this writing, only 51% of public bettors are backing the underdog Cardinals. Both of these teams are coming off wins and the public is gaining confidence with the Rams the more the season wears on.
Who the Trends Like: Arizona. The Cardinals are a perfect 4-0 against the spread when the Rams are listed as the home team and have covered in six of the last eight meetings between these two teams overall. The Rams are also just 1-10-1 against the spread in their last 12 conference games and are winless at 0-5 at the betting window in their last five divisional games.
Who We Like: Arizona. One week doesn’t tell us the whole story but Adrian Peterson gave the Cardinals a major boost last week. He had 26 carries in the team’s win over the Bucs and AP rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns. Granted, the Rams did a good job of containing Leonard Fournette last week and their defense appears to be coming around, but the concern for me here is Jared Goff. In his first four games, he completed 67% of his passes for 270 yards with seven touchdowns and just one interception. His QB rating over that span was 112. In his last two games, Goff has completed just 48% of his passes for 206 yards with one touchdown, two picks and a QB rating of 60. If the Rams can’t run the ball, I don’t think Goff wins on his own. I like the Cards.
