NFL Week 8 Point Spreads
With Week 7 nearly in the books, here’s an overview of the opening point spreads and totals for Week 8 in the NFL.
What is the most intriguing matchup for Week 8 in the NFL?
Who would have thought that a NFC title rematch between the Cardinals and the Panthers wouldn’t be the most intriguing matchup for Week 8? But given Carolina’s struggles, the Cardinals-Panthers showdown at 1:00PM ET on Sunday has lost a lot of its luster. The best matchup is on Sunday night when the Cowboys host the Eagles at 8:30PM ET. With Philadelphia getting back on track with an impressive win over the previously unbeaten Vikings, and the Cowboys currently on a roll since losing their opener to the Giants, this is a NFC East showdown worth watching. Dallas opened as a 4.5-point home favorite for this tilt, and that’s where the spread currently sits. The total, meanwhile, is 43.5.
What’s the biggest point spread on the board for Week 8?
Not every line has been posted as of this writing, but the Patriots are a 5-point road favorite versus the Bills at 1:00PM ET according to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI. This line could jump even higher if Buffalo running back LeSean McCoy is unavaliable to play after leaving Sunday’s loss to the Dolphins early due to a hamstring injury. Don’t forget that this is also a revenge spot for Bill Belichick and Co. after the Bills beat the Patriots a few weeks ago in Foxboro. That game, of course, was played without the suspended Tom Brady.
What is the smallest spread on the board?
The Bucs are a 1-point home favorite versus the Raiders at 1:00PM ET, which is currently the smallest spread available. That said, there are no shortage of small lines in Week 8. The Bengals are 2.5-point home favorites versus the Redskins, the Chiefs are 2.5-point road favorites versus the Colts, and the Falcons are 2.5-point home favorites versus the Packers.

What is the biggest total for Week 8?
Right now the biggest over/under on the board is Green Bay and Atlanta, which is 52.5. After the Falcons scored 30 points and allowed 33 in a loss to the Chargers on Sunday at the Georgia Dome, don’t be shocked if bettors pushed that total higher, too. The Packers will enter the game with a banged up secondary but great run defense, which will cause Matt Ryan and Co. to put the ball in the air plenty on Sunday.
