NFL Wild Card Betting: Public Bettors Backing Chiefs over Titans 1/6/18

There’s still multiple hours before the 4:35 p.m. ET kickoff between the Titans and Chiefs but public bettors are currently backing the home team.

As of Saturday morning, 57% of the betting tickets are on the Chiefs to cover the spread while 56% of the money is on the Titans.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Chiefs are 9-point home favorites to beat the Titans, who opened as 7-point underdogs. The total, meanwhile, sits at 44.5 points and hasn’t budged off the original number.

The road team has covered the spread in seven of the last eight meetings between these two teams while the Titans are 5-1 against the number in their last six games in Kansas City. They’re also 5-1 at the betting window in their last six games overall and are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games when facing a team with a winning record. That said, Tennessee is just 8-20 at the betting window in its last 28 road games.

On the other side, the Chiefs are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games overall, have covered the spread in four of their last five hoe games, and are 8-2 at the betting window in their last 10 games coming off a win. That said, Kansas City is just 1-8 at the betting window in its last nine playoff games and winless at 0-5 against the spread in its last five home playoff games.

The over has also cashed in five of the last seven meetings between these two teams although the under is 6-2 in the Chiefs’ last eight games overall  and the under is 8-3 in the Titans’ last 11 games played in the month of January.
