Dolphins vs. Steelers Prediction
Are the Steelers worth a play for bettors as a double-digit home favorite today against the Dolphins in the NFL Wildcard round at 1:05PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Steelers are now 12.5-point home favorites versus the Dolphins after opening as low as an 8.5-point favorite. As for the total, the number hit the board at 47.5 and has been bet down to 46 at the majority of online and Vegas sports books.

MIAMI KEY TRENDS: The Dolphins have covered the spread in four of their last five games overall and are 8-3 against the number in their last 11 games overall. That said, they’re winless at 0-4 against the number in their last four playoff games and are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five postseason road games. They’re 3-7 at the betting window in their last 10 games when playing a team with a winning record as well.
PITTSBURGH KEY TRENDS: The Steelers have covered in six oft heir last seven playoff home games and are 5-1-1 at the betting window in their last seven games overall. They’re also 4-1-1 against the spread in their last six conference games and have covered in four of their last five contests after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game.

OUR PREDICTION: The Dolphins’ only shot of winning this game is to do exactly what it did when these two teams met back in October: Run Jay Ajayi down the Steelers’ throat. But I don’t see Ajayi coming anywhere close to the 204 yards that he gained in Miami. Since that Week 6 matchup, the Steelers’ defense has gave up an average of just 99.3 yards rushing per game. In other words, they’ve corrected their issues against the run and if they can make Miami one-dimensional today, then Ben Roethlisberger, Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown should begin to feast on the Dolphins’ defense.
