It’s not surprising to see that New England was a top selection considering the Patriots are taking on the Bills, who will be without LeSean McCoy for Sunday’s game in Buffalo. But two of those five teams (Chargers and Saints) are underdogs, which are usually avoided by public bettors.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Patriots are a 5-point favorite versus the Bills while the Chargers are 4.5-point road underdogs at the Broncos. The Raiders are slight favorites at -2 against the Bucs in Tampa Bay, while the Falcons are a 3-point home favorite versus the Packers. The Saints, meanwhile, are a 2-point home dog versus the Seahawks at 1:00PM ET.
If you’re betting the Week 8 action in the NFL, those top five picks might be worth fading. That’s because the Top 5 year-to-date record in the 2016 Westgate NFL SuperContest is 11-23-1 against the spread this season. That said, the top 5 was 3-2 against the spread last week, with the Chargers, Patriots and Dolphins all covering and the Vikings and Titans falling short at the betting window.

Meanwhile, “Johnny Vegas” is in second place following a 4-1 Week 7 and his picks are the Falcons, Saints, Patriots, Colts and Eagles, who will travel to Dallas to take on the Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.
