Spread moves to Broncos -7.5 as Antonio Brown ruled out for the Steelers

Brown out for Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without their top offensive weapon for Sunday’s playoff game with the Denver Broncos, as Antonio Brown has been ruled out.

Brown was unable to pass the NFL’s concussion protocol following a vicious hit from Cincinnati’s Vontaze Burfict at the end of last week’s NFL Wild Card playoff game. Brown appeared to be unconscious immediately after the hit, though Bengals’ Adam Jones accused Brown of faking the injury to draw a penalty flag.

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the spread for Sunday’s game is already growing as it has moved from the Broncos -7 to the Broncos -7.5 against the Steelers since the news of Brown’s status came out. The over/under total for the game has still yet to be set.

Brown was one of the leading receivers in the NFL this season, catching 136 passes for 1,834 yards with 10 touchdowns. Brown also has 7 receptions for 119 yards in last week’s playoff win over the Bengals. When Pittsburgh met Denver back on Dec. 20, Brown caught 16 passes for 189 yards with two touchdowns. With Ben Roethlisberger also injured, but playing, the Steelers seem to have their backs against the wall against one of the top defenses in the NFL.
