Best Patriots Super Bowl Prop Bets

What are some of the best Patriots-themed prop bets for Super Bowl 51? We’ve compiled props that we think offer the best value.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Patriots are 3-point favorites over the Falcons while the over/under for Super Bowl Sunday sits at 58.5. There has been next to no line movement over the last two weeks, indicating that the sports books are getting good two-way action on tonight’s game.

Bet Super Bowl LI Patriots vs. Falcons

Tom Brady OVER 310.5 Total Passing Yards

This is the highest total ever for any Super Bowl, which indicates that bookmakers believe the game will be high-scoring. Even if the combined score falls short of the 58.5 number, there’s still a good chance that Brady and Matt Ryan will be slinging passes all night. Atlanta starts five rookies in its nickel package, including corners Jalen Collins and Brian Poole, and safety Keanu Neal. We like Brady versus that young Falcons secondary, so take the over for his passing yards.

Dion Lewis OVER 41.5 Rushing Yards

The Patriots took their time bringing back Lewis after he had surgery to repair a knee injury. Now that he’s healthy, look for the Pats to unleash him tonight. He averaged 40.43 rushing yards per game during the regular season but we think he’ll gain closer to 50 yards, so the over 41.5 represents good value for bettors.

LeGarrette Blount UNDER 14.5 Total Rushing Attempts

As previously mentioned, we believe Lewis will carve out a sizable role in the Patriots’ game plan tonight, meaning he’ll split time with Blount. Certainly New England wants to pound the ball on the ground and keep Matt Ryan and the explosive Atlanta offense on the sidelines for stretches, but we project Blount for 10-12 carries.

Julian Edelman OVER 95.5 Total Receiving Yards

We project Edleman for eight receptions and 115 yards. As we mentioned in the Brady prop pick, the Falcons start five rookies on defense when they go into their nickel look, including three rookies in the secondary. The Patriots love to use their short passing game as an extension of the run, which means Edelman will see plenty of targets tonight.
