Brees working on extension with Saints
Drew Brees doesn’t think his time with the New Orleans Saints is coming to an end anytime soon.
Brees is entering the final year of a five-year deal with the team this upcoming season, but Brees is confident the team will work out an extension or a new contract before it becomes an issue.
“I’ve got, obviously, a very strong relationship with the Saints,” Brees told ESPN Radio in Baton Rouge. “So talks are ongoing, and I don’t know if that is something that will be done next week or before the end of the year or next year or when. But obviously, I want to be a Saint for the rest of my career, and I think I’ve got a lot of good years left.”

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Saints enter the 2016 season with 55/1 odds to win Super Bowl LI. They are also currently listed with 25/1 odds to win the NFC Championship. Oddsmakers also have the Saints’ win total for 2016 listed at 7 games.
Brees joined the Saints in the 2006 season and New Orleans couldn’t have asked for much more than they have gotten out of the deal. He has had more than 4,400 yards every season since joining the team and has only missed two games in this 10-season span. He has 428 touchdowns for his career and four seasons with over 5,000 yards passing. He also led the Saints to a Super Bowl in 2009. The 37-year-old QB is set to enter his 16th season in the NFL. He is coming off a 4,870-yard season with 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while the Saints went 7-9.
