Zach Ertz SB 52 Prop Bet Predictions
Will Eagles tight end Zach Ertz catch over five passes on Sunday when the Eagles take on the Patriots in Super Bowl 52?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book YouWager, the Patriots are 4.5-point favorites to beat the Eagles in Super Bowl LII. New England opened as a 6-point favorite at most online sportsbooks but the number has dropped steadily since. As for the total, the number hit the board at 47.5, went up to 48, but is back down to 47.5 at some books.
Despite being the underdog, the Eagles are receiving the majority of the backing from the public. As of Thursday morning, 55% of betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Eagles to cover the spread. Meanwhile, 61% of the betting tickets are on the over.

Zach Ertz Total Receptions: Over 5
This one will be close but I do believe Ertz will catch at least five passes after catching eight passes on eight targets in the NFC Championship Game. New England might decide to play a lot of zone and rely on its front four to get after Nick Foles. If that’s the case, Foles could have plenty of completions but not a lot of yardage. Even when Foles struggled mightily against Oakland, he peppered Ertz with 14 targets and the tight responded with nine catches.
Zach Ertz Total Receiving Yards: Under 60.5
This is going to be close as well but I think Ertz falls just short. In his last five games, Ertz has gone over 60 yards receiving just twice: Two weeks ago against the Vikings and on Christmas night veruss the Raiders. Otherwise, he has a 32-yard effort versus the Falcons, a 24-yard effort versus Dallas (granted, Philly pulled its starters early in that game), and a 56-yard effort against the Giants. If I’m right and the Patriots allow a lot of underneath yardage but take away the deep ball, then Ertz will fall just short of his yardage total.
Zach Ertz Longest Reception: Under 18.5
I’m playing the odds on this one. In his last five games, he had a long of over 18.5 yards in just two games: The aforementioned Minnesota and Oakland contests. In his other three games, he caught a 17 yards pass against the Giants, a 15-yard pass agianst the Cowboys,a nd an 11-yard pass against Atlanta. In fact, save for him catching a few more passes, I think his numbers on Sunday will most resemble his production versus the Falcons when he caught three passes for 32 yards on five targets. The Patriots have been excellent against tight ends this season. They won’t allow him to have a big game like the Vikings did.
