What will Weeden do?
Brandon Weeden will be starting for his second different NFL team this season when he leads the Houston Texans against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
According to oddsmakers at MyBookie.ag, the Texans are favored in this game, as they are getting odds of -3.5 points against the Titans. The over/under total has been set at 40 points. These two meet today at 1PM ET on CBS.
Weeden and the Texans (7-7, 7-7 ATS) have had an interesting season. He will be the fourth different starting QB for Houston this year due to injuries and other issues. Weeden, himself, was the backup to Tony Romo in Dallas and got his chance to start there, but struggled in four appearances. He replaced T.J. Yates last week for the Texans and went 11 of 18 passing for 105 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in a win over the Colts.
For today’s game with the Titans (3-11, 4-9 ATS), Weeden’s over/under for passing yards is listed at 245.5, while his over/under for TD passes has been set at 1.5. The Titans don’t have anything to play for and they’ve struggled against the pass, especially as of late. They have allowed at least 260 passing yards in four straight games while giving up a total of 13 TDs in those four games. Weeden may not be an accomplished passer in the NFL, but he has a great weapon in DeAndre Hopkins and the Texans are still looking to win the AFC South. Don’t be surprised if Weeden has one of his better games.
