NFL Week 13 Survivor Pool Picks
Still alive in your NFL survivor pool? Congratulations. And good luck working through the mine field that is Week 13. Here are three options if you’re looking for some help making your selection for this week.
How we did last week: Our No. 1 option was the Baltimore Ravens and while they made it nerve-wrecking for bettors, they did beat the Houston Texans on Monday night. Our No. 2 option was the Cincinnati Bengals, who cruised to a victory and a cover against the Browns. Our last option for Week 12 was the Carolina Panthers, who made it interesting versus the New York Jets but did rally in the fourth quarter to win. So we were 3-0 with our NFL survivor pool picks in Week 12.
1. Los Angeles Chargers
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Chargers are the biggest favorite on the board for Week 13. If you haven’t used them, it’s time to burn the Bolts. First and foremost, they’re playing the winless Browns. If you faded Cleveland all season, you will have reached Week 13 by virtue of the hapless Browns. Secondly, the Chargers are playing their best football of the season and are now just one game back of the Chiefs in the AFC West. Even though they’re playing the Browns, there should be zero letdown for a team that has a legitimate chance of reaching the playoffs.
2. Oakland Raiders
You may have used the Raiders earlier in the season against the Jets but if you didn’t burn them then, you can use them on Sunday. They’re hosting the Giants, who gave up on their season a month ago. Granted, New York has outright wins as a 13-point road underdog at Denver and as a 10-point home dog versus Kansas City the past five weeks. Still, they have to travel cross-country again and play a Raiders team coming off a win and still in the playoff mix despite being 5-6. Oakland is a 7-point home favorite and should be safe for your survivor pool.
3. Tennessee Titans
The Titans make me nervous but they’re a solid play this week and if you haven’t burned them, they should be a safe play. They’re hosting the Houston Texans on Sunday and are a 7-point home favorite for Week 13. The Texans’ season is spiraling down the drain and will be coming off a short week of rest and preparation after playing on Monday night. Oh, and they start Tom Savage, which helps. I’m assuming the Titans will be a major public play this weekend and they should be.
