Seahawks vs. Jets Prediction

Despite flying cross-country and the Seahawks still a good bet to beat the Jets and cover as a small favorite at 1:00PM ET today?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Seahawks are now 1-point road favorites against the Jets after New York opened as a 2.5-point home underdog. The total, meanwhile, sits at 40 points after the number opened at 41.5.

Bet Today’s NFL Games

The Seahawks have been a poor play for bettors of late, covering just once in their last five games. They’re also 0-5 against the spread in their last five games coming off a win and are 19-40-2 against the number in their last 61 games played in October. That said, they’re 18-6-2 at the betting window in their last 26 games after accumulating more than 250 yards passing in their previous game.

The Jets are 5-0-1 against the spread in their last six games versus a team with a winning record and are 3-1-1 ATS in their last six games played in October. That said, they’re 6-13-3 against the spread in their last 22 games after allowing less than 90 yards rushing in their previous contest and have failed to cover in four of their last five games playing in Week 4.

OUR PREDICTION: This feels like a bit of a trap play with the Seahawks flying cross-country and given the fact that Russell Wilson is playing through knee and ankle ailments. But Pete Carroll also knows his team hasn’t looked great the past three weeks so look for the Seahawks to be focused against a mistake-prone Jets team that still hasn’t played up to its potential defensively.
