Will Lynch score in his return?
It’s been some time since the Seattle Seahawks had Marshawn Lynch in the backfield. Will Lynch return to Beast Mode for today’s playoff game with the Carolina Panthers?
According to oddsmakers at RealBets, Carolina is favored to win today’s playoff game, as the Panthers are getting odds of -2.5 points against the Seahawks. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 44 points. These two meet today at 1:05PM ET on FOX.
Lynch is expected to play today for the Seahawks (11-6, 8-8-1 ATS) after suffering a sports hernia during the season. He was also expected to play last week but elected not to travel with the team to Minnesota. He appeared in just seven games during the regular season, rushing for just 417 yards with three touchdowns and a 3.8 yards per-carry average. His last outing was on Nov. 15 in a 39-32 loss to the Cardinals at home when he rushed for 42 yards on 8 carries, but had a TD.
Today the Seahawks and Lynch face the top-seeded Panthers (15-1, 11-5 ATS). Carolina has the fourth-ranked run defense in the NFL this season, allowing just 88.4 yards per game. They also allowed just eight rushing touchdowns this season to running backs. Oddsmakers have listed Lynch with odds of -110 to score in this game, while his odds to score the first TD are set at +850. When Lynch met up with the Panthers on Oct. 18, he rushed for just 54 yards on 17 carries, but did find the end zone. Lynch has scored a TD in seven of his last eight postseason games.
