Patriots vs. Jets Pick
The over has been a great bet in recent meetings between the Patriots and Jets, but will it cash on Sunday?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Jets are 7.5-point home underdogs versus the Patriots while the over/under currently sits at 46 points. New York did open as an 8.5-point home dog before the line was bet down to 7.5, and the total opened at 48 before dropping two full points to 46.
The Patriots rebounded from their loss to the Seahawks two weeks ago by defeating the 49ers 30-17 as a 10.5-point favorite in Santa Clara. The win improved New England’s record to 8-2 overall and the Patriots are now 8-2 against the spread as well. The team hopes to get tight end Rob Gronkowski back after he didn’t make the trip to the west coast last week due to a perforated lung suffered in that Week 10 loss to Seattle. Gronkowski leads the team with 540 receiving yards.
The Jets will turn back to quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick after Bryce Petty started for the team in their Week 10 loss to the Rams. Head coach Todd Bowles said that Fitzpatrick is the team’s starter as long as he’s healthy and apparently the veteran got healthy enough over the Jets’ bye last week. New York resides in last place in the AFC East at 3-7 and is just 3-7 at the betting window as well.
