Will Wilson use his feet today?

With Marshawn Lynch out for the Seattle Seahawks in today’s playoff game against the Minnesota Vikings, will they have to rely on Russell Wilson to run more?

View NFL Odds

According to oddsmakers at RealBets, Seattle is favored on the road, as the Seahawks are getting odds of -3.5 points against the Vikings today. The over/under total for the game has been set at 39.5 points. These two meet today at 1PM ET on NBC.

Lynch continues to be out for the Seahawks (10-6, 8-7-1 ATS) due to a hernia. The team is also without Thomas Rawls, who has an ankle injury. The team is down to a mix of Christine Michael, Fred Jackson and Bryce Brown in the backfield. That could mean the team will need Wilson to run the ball more against the Vikings (11-5, 13-3 ATS). He is the leading active rusher for Seattle in this game, as he has 553 yards and a touchdown this season. This goes along with his 4,024 passing yards and 34 touchdowns.

For this playoff game, oddsmakers have listed Wilson with an over/under of 39.5 rushing yards as well as 240.5 passing yards. When these two met in Minnesota back on Dec. 13, Wilson was 21 of 27 passing for 274 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 51 yards and a TD on 9 carries. In that game, Seattle got 101 yards rushing from Rawls. Last week, Michael gave the Seahawks 102 rushing yards against the Cardinals, but the team had just 59 yards in the ground in the loss to the Rams the week prior. Minnesota isn’t known for a great run defense, as it ranks 17th in the NFL. Wilson has run for at least 40 yards in six games this season. He also has 241 yards passing or more in nine games.
