Brady could produce big for prop bettors
Will Tom Brady throw for multiple touchdown passes when he and the Patriots square off against the Falcons in Super Bowl 51?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the over/under for number of touchdown passes that Brady will throw have been set at 2.0. He also has an over/under of 25.5 for number of total completions in the game, 38.5 for number of total pass attempts, and 310.5 for number of total passing yards.

Brady was suspended for the first four games of the regular season due to the “Deflategate” scandal, but returned to throw for 3,554 passes on 291-of-432 attempts. He also threw a remarkable 28 touchdown passes to just two interceptions while completing passes at a 8.23 yards-per-attempt clip. If it weren’t for the four-game suspension, Brady may have won the MVP award and is still in the mix for the trophy despite Matt Ryan being the favorite.
Bet Super Bowl LI Patriots vs. Falcons
On a game-per-game basis, Brady averaged 24.25 pass completions this season and 296.17 yards per game. He also averaged 2.33 touchdowns per contest and 0.17 interceptions. Thus, if you go on his averages alone, the over 2.0 for touchdowns is a good bet, as is the under 25.5 pass completions. Even though it’s tempting to bet the over on the total number of yards that Brady will finish with, if you go on his average during the regular season, the number is the play with that prop wager.

That said, the Falcons’ defense must be factored in and if you’re looking for my projections, I like Brady to complete over 25.5 pass completions, over 38.5 pass attempts, over 2.0 passing touchdowns and over 310.5 passing yards. The reason being? The Falcons have the No. 1 offense in the NFL and despite New England’s defensive prowess, chances are Brady will be sucked into a shootout.
