Patriots vs. Steelers Pick
Even with Ben Roethlisberger out, will the Patriots and Steelers still rack up a ton of points Sunday at 4:25PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Steelers are now 7-point home underdogs versus the Patriots after opening as a 7.5-point dog. As for the total, the number currently sits at 47 after it opened at 45.5 points.
Roethliserger has already been ruled out for Sunday’s game with a torn meniscus in his left knee. Sunday will mark the first Patriots-Steelers game without Roethlisberger starting for Pittsburgh since Week 1 of the 2002 season when Kordell Stewart was still under center for the Steelers. Pittsburgh had played nine straight games against New England with Big Ben under center, including the playoffs.
According to ELIAS, Tom Brady is the first player to throw for 300 yards with three touchdown passes and no interceptions in each of the first two games of a player’s season. No player has ever hit those numbers in their first three games of the year and the last player to hit those marks in three straight games within a single season, regardless of the time period, was Brady in Weeks 6-8 in 2007. Dude is incredible.

OUR PREDICTION: The Patriots defense has allowed opposing offenses to score touchdowns on 71% of red-zone drives, which is the fourth highest in the league this season. New England has not finished a season above 67% in the Bill Belichick era, but through six games the Patriots are allowing more yardage and a higher completion percentage since 2012. The over is 5-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams in Pittsburgh and is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings overall.
