The NHL Season is set to get underway this week. Which teams come into the year with high expectations to win the Stanley Cup Final?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Chicago Blackhawks are listed as the favorite with 5/1 odds to win. Other short odds to win the Stanley Cup are the Tampa Bay Lightning (15/2), the Pittsburgh Penguins (17/2) and the Washington Capitals (17/2).
Chicago was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs last year. The Blackhawks went 47-26-9 on the season. Chicago has won the Stanley Cup six times, last doing so in 2015.
Tampa Bay reached Eastern Conference Finals last year before losing to the Penguins. Tampa was 46-31-5 last season. The Lightning have only won the Stanley Cup one time, which was in 2004.

Pittsburgh claimed the Stanley Cup last year after going 48-26-8. The Cup was their fourth in franchise history and first since 2009.
Washington had the best record in the NHL last season, going 56-18-8, but the Caps lost in the second round of the playoffs to the Penguins. The Capitals have never won the Stanley Cup in franchise history.
