Blues’ Berglund to have surgery

ST. LOUIS, MO (The Spread) – Blues winger Patrik Berglund will need surgery on his right shoulder and will be out at least four months.

Berglund sustained the injury two years ago in a game versus Dallas and then re-injured himself last season but wasn’t expected to miss time in 2015. However, after training for the upcoming season, he started to have issues with the shoulder again and has elected to proceed with surgery.

Berglund had 12 goals and 27 points in 77 games last season for the Blues. His injury opens the door for Robby Fabbri to make the roster out of camp. Ty Rattie and Scott Gomez (who agreed to attend a tryout with the club) will be in the mix for a roster spot as well.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Blues have +1350 odds to win the Stanley Cup next season.
