Bruins cruise to Game 3 win
Boston secured a 7-2 victory Saturday night in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals at St. Louis to take a 2-1 series lead. The Bruins established a 3-0 lead through one period, beginning with a Patrice Bergeron power play goal midway through the first period off assists by Torey Krug and Jake DeBrusk. Charlie Coyle made it 2-0 at the 2:20 mark with assists going to Marcus Johansson and Danton Heinen. Sean Kuraly added the third goal with 10 seconds remaining in the first on an assist from Joakim Nordstrom. Only 41 seconds into the second period, a David Pastrnak goal assisted by Krug and Bergeron pushed the advantage to 4-0. The Blues got one goal back at the 8:55 mark of the second, but Boston pushed it to 5-1 only a minute later as Krug scored on the power play off assists from Brad Marchand and Bergeron. St. Louis made it a 5-2 game in the third before the Bruins put it away late, with Noel Acciari scoring on the power play with 1:48 remaining on assists from Nordstrom and Coyle. Johansson scored on the power play 23 seconds later to complete the scoring as assists went to Krug and Connor Clifton. Tuukka Rask earned the win between the pipes as he allowed two goals on 29 shots.

St. Louis lost by a count of 7-2 Saturday night versus Boston in its first home Stanley Cup Finals game since 1970. The Blues fell behind 4-0 41 seconds into the second period before finally getting on the board at the 8:55 mark of the second on an Ivan Barbashev goal assisted by Zach Sanford and Alexander Steen. After the contest was 5-2 heading into the final period, Colton Parayko cut it to 5-2 at the 14:36 mark of the third on a power play goal assisted by Ryan O’Reilly and Tyler Bozak. The Bruins proceeded to score twice in the last two minutes to put it away. Jordan Binnington surrendered five goals on 19 shots before getting pulled from the game in the second period. NHL Betting Trends
Boston
The Bruins are 4-0 in their last four games as an underdog. Boston is 5-0 in its last five games as an underdog.
St. Louis
The home team is 5-2 in the last seven meetings. St. Louis is 19-8 in its last 27 home games.
Prediction:
The main thing to decide here is whether Binnington bounce back strongly or has lost confidence as a rookie after being pulled from Game 2. I think he has a strong game tonight and he’s come through with a lot of big performances following losses all season, with the playoffs being no different. Expect the Blues to be on top of their game in front of him as the hosts even the series at 2-2 after such an awful performance two nights ago.
