Tuukka Rask will start tonight for Boston after turning away 27 of 28 shots in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Hurricanes on Tuesday. He allowed the only goal of the shootout, which proved to be the difference as Cam Ward out-dueled the 29-year-old. Rask is now 30-23-7 on the season.

The Red Wings will counter with Jimmy Howard, who came up huge Wednesday night against the Flyers. He turned aside all 30 shots he faced in a 3-0 shutout and also registered the only assist of the game in the process. Howard is now 14-12-5 on the season and owns a 2.72 goals-against average to go along with a .909 save percentage.
Despite the Red Wings’ recent success, they’re just 1-6 in their last seven games versus the Bruins and 0-5 in their last five trips to Boston. They’ve also struggled playing on no rest, losing nine of 10 when playing on back-to-back nights.
