Caps, B’s poised for ultra-competitive affair
Despite minimal offensive contributions, Boston has captured three games in a row entering Wednesday’s matchup against Washington. Will Claude Julien’s club stay hot at the Verizon Center?
The two Eastern Conference outfits face off at 8 p.m. ET in the nation’s capital. Online sports book Bovada.lv gives the Caps odds of -140 to emerge victorious. The Bruins, on the other hand, represent +120 underdogs.

Two nights ago, the B’s used yet another stellar performance from David Pastrnak to squeeze out a 4-3 win over Florida. The third-year forward netted two goals, pushing his season total to 15. Prior to Boston’s relative outburst vs. the Panthers, though, it had recorded only 21 tallies in 11 contests.
Washington, of course, hardly lacks for scoring punch. Most recently, Marcus Johansson & Co. registered a 3-2 triumph over Buffalo. An added bonus for the host squad: T.J. Oshie (shoulder) could return from a prolonged absence.

Ultimately, we’re partial to the Capitals’ goaltending situation here. Braden Holtby is 9-2 with a 1.57 GAA and .952 save percentage when facing Boston. Conversely, Tuuka Rask struggles mightily against the Metropolitan Division stalwarts. Make the obvious call.
