Sharks vs. Avalanche Pick

Will the San Jose Sharks skate to a victory on the road tonight in their contest at the Colorado Avalanche? The puck drops at 9PM ET.

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, the Sharks are a -115 favorite to win on the spread line. The Avalanche are a -105 underdog, while the total is set at 5.5 goals. As of Tuesday afternoon, 58 percent of public bets have come in on Colorado.

San Jose enters with a 28-16-5-3 record after a 3-1 victory Sunday at the Hurricanes. Colorado is 28-19-3-1 following a 3-0 loss Saturday at the Jets. The Avs won the first meeting this season by a 5-3 final on their home ice back on Jan. 18. The Sharks are 2-1 in three meetings since the start of last season. The over has gone 2-0-1.

In the win at Carolina, Brent Burns highlighted the effort with a goal and an assist. Timo Meier and Chris Tierney added a goal apiece. Aaron Dell turned away 29 shots on 30 attempts to register the win between the pipes. Tierney gave the Sharks a 2-1 advantage in the final minute of the first period. Burns added an insurance goal early in the second and San Jose held on from there.

Colorado allowed a first period goal in the defeat at Winnipeg and could not recover. The score remained 1-0 through two periods, while the Jets added two insurance tallies in the third. Semyon Varlamov accounted for 29 saves on 31 attempts to take the loss.

The home team is 27-9 in the last 36 meetings. The over is 7-0-1 in the last eight meetings overall and 4-0 in the last four meetings in Colorado.

Bet on Sharks vs. Avalanche

San Jose looked solid in its last game at Carolina and will look to continue rolling tonight in a revenge game versus the Avs. I highly doubt the Sharks will allow five goals once again and with an offense that can be potent when its clicking, I expect the visitors to find the back of the net enough to get the victory here.
