St. Louis kept its season alive with a 2-1 win in Game 5 on Friday. The Predators still hold a 3-2 lead in the series. The home team has won four straight in the series. Nashville is now 48-31-12 overall and 28-9-8 at home while St. Louis is 52-33-7 overall and 25-19-2 on the road.
The Blues never trailed in Game 6, as Dmitri Jaskin gave St. Louis a 1-0 lead in the second period. Jaden Schwartz would get the game-winner just 25 seconds into the third period. James Neal got the lone goal for the Predators late in the second. St. Louis held a 32-22 advantage in shot and a 31-25 edge in hits. Jake Allen faced just 22 shots, but stopped all but one. Pekka Rinne still played well, but faced 32 shots.
I feel like the Predators are the better team throughout this series and this is their last home opportunity. I don’t see them letting this get away. Pekka Rinne is still playing at a high level and he should face less shots in Game 6. Nashville will make the adjustments on offense to avoid being out-shot by 10 against the Blues. With the added offensive presence, the Preds should overwhelm Jake Allen and get a win.
